They act as a GPS system that helps you do make sense of the world and to understand and appreciate what’s important to you. They influence how you perceive the world and form the driving force behind what you stand for and who you are.

On any given day we make over 35,000 decisions our fundamental beliefs are what help us make decisions that align with what makes us feel most authentic and true to ourselves.

So if you feel great about making people laugh core values such as humour, comedy, wit, and fun are likely to play a big part in your life.

I’ve often been confused about what core values I should have and why.
This has led me to do extensive research on the benefits of working out what exactly they are. If you would like an in-depth explanation of this click this link.

Your attitude, on the other hand, is how you act and behave towards a person, thing, or situation. For example, you might have a negative attitude towards a person you work with or a celebrity or sportsman.

Very often, however, our attitude has nothing to do with the situation but based on a negative past experience. This can cause us to become stagnant and can negatively impact our lives.

Maya Angelou sums up the sentiment behind attitude in her quote –

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. “

So it’s important to find ways that you can overcome a bad attitude that holds you back and here’s how you can achieve it.

Courage 1 # of The 7 Incredible Personal Core Values To Build A Positive Attitude

The first personal core value that builds your attitude is Courage.

Courage allows you to build a positive attitude because it puts you in the driving seat to go for whatever it is you want to achieve. It gives you the ability to try new adventures and step outside your comfort zone.

In the above video, Robert Staub states that he has seen 1000’s of lives change by “small discreet daily acts of courage that can serve to develop” what he calls “the cardiovascular system of your soul.

He said that courage also liberates the purpose, passion, and power to be your best self and live your best life.

The American Actor Will Smith said you’re responsible for your happiness. But in reality, is easy to blame others for our inability.

Real courage drives you to do whatever it takes to win. And a positive attitude helps you to shine even when the going gets tough. This will ensure you win more often.

If you look at some of the most successful people in the world they all had a positive attitude and a unique ability to remain optimistic.

Courage doesn’t mean you are fearless,
but you build courage by taking action, even if you fear the consequences of doing so.  Will Smith makes a distinction between fear and danger.

Fear is a prediction of what will happen in the future, which may not even exist, it’s a figment of your imagination that is near to insanity. He went on to say……

“Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”

Resourcefulness 2 # of The 7 Incredible Personal Core Values To Build A Positive Attitude

The second personal core value that builds a positive attitude is being resourceful.

We all know people who look back on their lives and say I would have been able to achieve this, and I could have been able to achieve more if only I had the opportunity like you.

But as the American Actor Morgan Freedom states
– the bus runs every day and you have countless chances every day to build the world you want to live in.

Having a positive attitude will help you see the resources you have right in front of you to achieve the things that are important to you.

So for example, you want to write a book that needs illustrations but you can’t draw and don’t have any money. Look at the resources you have available to you.

Ways You Can Become More Resourceful

Consider approaching an art college and reaching out to art students that could help you. In return, you could be given credit in your book for their hard work to allow them to get more work.

When it comes to promoting your book look at what Youtube channels can help you market your book. You’ll be amazed at how much free information is out there that can help you nail your promotion.

Also, consider what other books you could access at very little cost that can help you promote your book.

Another way of using your resources is to find out whether you have any friends who can help you market your book. If you’re looking to open up bright new opportunities and start a business, this neat little book Your Successful Business has all the tools you need to start an online business.

The truth is, that very few people achieve their goals working a 9-5 job. That is why I started this blog and looking forward to launching a YouTube Channel. You owe it to yourself to do whatever it takes to challenge yourself and make real change happen, click this link to find out more…..

The
six degrees of separation theory should help you form an even stronger positive attitude towards achieving your goals.

The theory is based on the idea that we are only six people away from a social connection with each other. It’s also known as the 6 Handshakes ruleAs a result, you’re only six friends away from anyone you wish to connect with.

Even if the principle doesn’t work for you in practice, it gives you a really powerful reason to network because you never know who you’re going to connect with that might help you.

Being resourceful builds a positive attitude
because with this approach the skies the limit.  You don’t have to wait for someone to help you, you simply tap into your resources and the only limitation is your unwillingness to ask for help.

But you would be surprised just how many people will give up their time to help you achieve your goal(s).

Optimism 3 # of The 7 Incredible Personal Core Values To Build A Positive Attitude

The third personal core value that helps builds a positive attitude is by being realistically optimistic.

Being optimistic is when you – are hopeful and confident about the future.

Helen Keller said –

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”

Being optimistic, allows you to view the world in an entirely different lens. It can empower you to become mentally strong helping you get through difficult times.

Optimism as a personal core value also creates positivity by enabling you to see light at the end of the tunnel.

An article written by the University of Michigan states that you don’t have to be born optimistic.

In their view, the key to optimism was-

  1. To generate realistic expectations
  2. Do whatever you can to make things go as best you can.
  3. Focus on what you are good at and look to the positives.

Why Optimism Attracts Aspiration

Not surprisingly, being optimistic not only produces a positive attitude it attracts aspiration. This is because when you’re positive, you see can opportunities and possibilities that you never knew existed.

To test the idea, do this simple exercise. Look around the room you in at the moment and count how many things are green. Then close your eyes and without opening your eyes, count how many things are blue.

Can you remember how many items are green?

Can you remember how many items are blue?

I bet you can remember how many things are green as opposed to how many things are blue. This is because you were focussing on the things that were green and not the blue things.

“Humility is a fundamental belief that brings peace and harmony to the forefront of whatever you do”

This simple exercise shows how we see what we focus on. This is sadly why people who are depressed often see and focus on negative things. This is converse for optimistic people.

So the personal core values of optimism acts as the lifeblood of having a positive attitude.

For example, just imagine if you were injured and would need to go through a lengthy recovery process. If you have an optimistic view that you will recover well and be back to your normal routine soon rather than later. With this approach, you’re more likely to heal more quickly. However, if you constantly worry about your recovery and don’t think you’ll ever recover, it will not only affect your mood it will also affect the healing process.

Along with this, people who have a positive approach to life actually live longer. Because your heart rate, blood pressure, and health, in general, operate at an optimum level.

And life is so much more fun when you have a positive attitude new opportunities happen, doors open, and well life becomes so much richer.

Appreciation 4 # of The 7 Incredible Personal Core Values To Build A Positive Attitude

The fifth core value that builds a positive mindset is appreciation.

The Cambridge English Dictionary states the definition of appreciation is the recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.

The Oxford English dictionary describes it as the

“act of recognizing or understanding that something is valuableimportant, or as described”.

You can appreciate the big things in life but a positive attitude truly happens when you appreciate the little things in life.

“Laughter produces a chemical reaction in the body that helps build a positive attitude”

The reason for this is that walking in the park on summer’s day is easy to achieve.  Just imagine how you’re positive attitude would skyrocket if you were walking through the park with the love of your life.

As the Oxford English Dictionary states appreciation will help you realize the value and importance of something or someone. This makes you put your life in perspective because you understand the significance of your friends your family and all the things that make you fulfilled.

Being appreciative not only helps you have a more positive attitude it also helps you become more humble. Humility is a fundamental belief that brings peace and harmony to the forefront of whatever you do.

Peace and harmony also produce a more positive attitude and create hope and a feeling of well-being.

The American motivational speaker Tony Robbins tasks us to make positive thinking a habit. And my video Success Habits challenges you to stop living life on everyone else’s terms and helps you call the shots in your life and gain self-power.

Just like with Tony Robbins the video encourages you to focus on what’s going right for you instead of what going wrong – and will help you to create lifelong habits that
will form the chain of your ultimate character.

They’ll also impact how you’re living your life and the opportunities open to you.

Robbins said we should find something to appreciate, no matter how tough the going gets there is always something to be thankful for.

Humour 5 # of The 7 Incredible Personal Core Values To Build A Positive Attitude

The sixth personal core value that builds a positive attitude is having a sense of humour.

Humour is – the quality of being amusing or comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech. Humour is a powerful way of encouraging you to stay positive and a perfect way to release stress and anxiety and channel it into positive energy.

In an article written by the Mayo Clinic, which you can access by clicking this line they detail how having a good laugh has powerful short-term and long-term benefits that ultimately help us have a positive attitude.

Laughter produces a chemical reaction in the body that helps build a positive attitude
by keeping your body healthier. Laughter can –

  • Stimulate many organs. Boost the oxygen levels in the lungs heart muscles and proliferates the positive endorphins that are released by your brain.
  • Help manage your response to stress. It does this by managing your stress response and reducing your blood pressure and heart rate. This helps you feel more relaxed and calm.
  • Soothe tension. Laughter also exercises your allowing relief and relaxation which can reduce many of the physical effects of stress.

Longer-term, laughter along with humour as a core value can also –

  • Boost your immune system.
  • Reduce pain.
  • Enhance your fulfillment.
  • Perk up your mood.

Acceptance 6 # Personal Core

Another personal core value that can boost your positive attitude is acceptance.

The definition of acceptance is your ability to assent to the reality of a situation. This requires that you understand a situation or condition and go along with it and not change it.

Going back to the Tony Robbins video, he encourages us to accept, that we are never going to be perfect. Understandably, it’s difficult to see how you could have a positive attitude if you’re always striving for perfection that is never going to happen.

Self-acceptance is a very big part of having a positive attitude
because it means appreciating your good points and the bad ones.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with thriving for perfection as long as you appreciate that you will not always reach it.

“Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”

JK Rowlings

A positive attitude, therefore, comes from accepting that perfection is not guaranteed along with the aptitude to look for ways you can make things better when things don’t go as planned.

The core value of acceptance produces the capability to understand others.
If you know someone who doesn’t have a positive attitude, get to know the person and find out why they feel the way they do.

This will help you have a more positive attitude towards their situation and help make you a better person too. Acceptance also allows you to recover from setbacks and build stronger positive attitudes.

Imagination 7 #
Personal Core Values For Positive Attitude

The seventh and final personal core value that will boost your positive attitude is imagination. The Merriam Website states that imagination is –

“the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality”.

“The man who has no imagination
has no wings.”

Muhammad Ali

The beautiful thing about having an imagination is that it can take you wherever you want to go.

Your mind can transform how you view and look at the world
and open up new experiences, ideas, and visions that ordinary life just can’t do.

Imagine having such a positive attitude you could achieve whatever you wanted.

What would you achieve?

How positive would it make you feel?

How could you help the people you care about?

Imagination helps you visually and so attracts the important things that matter to you.

So, if you imagine getting married and meeting your partner, your ability to visualize and imagine what you want to happen makes it more likely to happen. As Theodore Roosevelt Quotes once said –

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”

https://youtu.be/s1q_mlFMc9I

Conversely, if you feel you’ll never meet anyone brave enough to marry you you’ll lack the imagination to visualize it happening. In all likelihood, there’s a good chance it won’t happen.

That’s why vision boards are so powerful. Being able to see and enjoy what you want to see happen is a way of tricking the brain into thinking it already has. To access audio tools that will help you to achieve your aspirations and become the CEO of your life.

Why Imagination Is Directly Related to Success

If you want to create a positive mindset you need to change your mind because your mind influences your ability to succeed.
Reading can also fire up your imagination and produce positive thoughts. It can get you charged and ready to make real change happen.

“Don’t let anybody just dump content into your mental factory”

The motivational speaker and entrepreneur Jim Rohn said your brain is like a mental factory and you shouldn’t let anybody just dump content into your mental factory. The reason being is that you have to live with it.

On the other hand, reading books that build emotional well-being, advocating how to be positive, how to learn grow, and accept yourself and others’ growth is inevitable and with it a positive attitude.

Your imagination is the key to unlocking the door to a positive attitude.
Because it affects your subconscious mind which influences much of what you say and do.

Just like reading can build a positive attitude so too can the people who surround you.

“when you’re positive, you see can opportunities and possibilities that most people would never know existed”

https://youtu.be/SIruIL1qQKg

When you hang around people with imagination it rubs off on you. You’ll be surprised how it can change your life. You’ll develop a skip in your step that will ignite your passion and build boost your confidence. This will increase your ability to have a positive attitude.

As Tony Robbin’s said if you want to succeed get around people who are successful, in the same way, if you want to be positive, hang out with positive people.

The seven core values that build a positive attitude are –

  • Courage
